CNC Department Manager
Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a reliable and responsible individual to lead our CNC department.
Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years CNC department management experience in the manufacturing industry. Knowledge and experience of machining a variety of materials, CNC set up, operation and programming. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of machining fundamentals, machine shop best practices, and be able to keep three machines busy. MasterCAM and RhinoCAM experience a must.
Job Description:
Manages all operations of the CNC Department. Responsible for the development of the department in terms of both organization and growth. Oversees the CNC operators’ daily schedule and performance. Accurately quotes all CNC jobs. Seeks out training and advancement opportunities.
Works in conjunction with the Design-for-Manufacturer Manager to seamlessly complete the quoting process and produce the final product accurately and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinates with DEM department by calculating cost analysis of materials, set-up procedures and machining production operations.
· Creates project programs with extreme efficiently in accordance with the estimated project allowances by utilizing CAD.
· Coordinates and oversees workflow throughout the production process and communicates with management team.
· Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
· Maintains accuracy and tolerance specifications of projects and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
· Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
· Evaluates manufacturing processes flow of short and long run orders, including routing of job through production cells, outside processes, and in-process and final inspection.
· Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods with creative thinking.
· Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow and proper machine allocation
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating needed actions, addressing any irregularities, and ensuring continuity of quality.
· Perform preventive maintenance on machinery per guidelines.
· Maintains MASTERCAM, RHINO-CAM licensing
·Trains employees as necessary.
· Communicates and works well with employees.
· Ability to multitask and manage heavy work load.
· Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
Composite Laminator
We have immediate openings for Composite Laminators in our Bristol facility.
Job Description:
Fabricate and assemble composite parts
Perform tool preparation, lamination, vacuum bagging, oven operation and finishing
Route, drill, trim and sand composite parts according to drawing dimensions and tolerances
Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
Experience in the following areas a plus:
Use power tools, band saw, ovens and other equipment in the fabrication process
Knowledge of composites manufacturing processes including hand-layup, vacuum bagging
Knowledge of composite structures, techniques, and practices
Experience with chemicals, fabrics and solvents
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be dependable and punctual
Strong work ethic and attention to detail and quality
Motivated / Self Starter
Able to work from verbal and /or written work instructions
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Mechanical Skills
Knowledge of using precision instruments and/or hand tools and power tools
Basic Computer Skills
Ability to maintain a neat and clean work area
